Administrative Officer

Since administrative service is the dream of many students therefore most of us want to be an administrative officer after completing graduation, which is the minimum requirement of eligibility for this post. Some of the students start working hard for clearing this exam. while some of them take it lightly. They want to be an officer without doing any hard work. Their fate can be judged very easily. Only a few of them can clear the exam. whereas most of them fail even after doing hard work. So, it becomes very important to understand, how to prepare for it and what qualities you must have.

Mode Of Selection In Other Countries

All the developed countries also use the mode of examination to select the candidates with the required abilities. Till now, no other way has been developed, other than screening the candidates in the form of a written examination. There are three stages for every candidate to get selected. Every selected candidate is supposed to clear all three stages. Now, the question arises, what do they want in their selected candidates? However, the selection authority is very well aware of the fact that the appointed candidate, in the future has to deal with different difficult situations and deal with a large section of society. They also know that the reins of the country will be in his hands.

The Main Things Which Are Looked For, By The Selection Authority:

Newly selected administrative officers.
  1. He/she should have a sound/intelligent brain.
  2. His thoughts should be practical and logical.
  3. He/she should be calm and cool-minded.
  4. The personality of the candidate should be impressive.
  5. The candidate shouldn’t be biased.

Since it’s one of the biggest reasons why the minimum age criteria set by the authorities is 21 years, It’s considered that after attaining this age, a person becomes mature. Subjects taken by the candidate don’t matter to them. Whether you have done your graduation in Arts, Commerce, Medical, or Non-Medical. They are least bothered about it. The percentage scored by you on your graduation also has no impact on the selection authority. You can judge from the facts that they are searching for something different in you otherwise all the graduates would have become Administrative servants. Moreover, they require some extraordinary skills and search for them by using different ways or techniques. If you have attained 21 years of age, you are eligible for the examination and you are allowed to sit in the 1st stage known to be pre-exams.

Stage-1.

Aspirants giving exams for joining administrative services.

Now, look at how the virtues of the candidates are tested using examinations. Firstly, the pre-exam. is in the form of multiple-choice questions in which one examination is on current affairs, general knowledge, and some other questions based on I.Q and analysis secondly the other examination is also a multiple-choice exam. This is an optional subject, the candidate has to choose. Solving this question paper is possible if the candidate has vast knowledge. The candidate must be having a balanced mind in selecting the right option. Once your concentration shuffles to some other question, you may select the wrong option.

Stability Of Mind Is Tested

This means that the stability of the mind is tested here. A candidate is supposed to solve 100 questions in 120 minutes. Here they judge your speed and presence of mind. Both the exams. have the same allotted time and the same no. of questions. Inset C there are comprehensions and the related questions have to be answered by the comprehension itself. By having a look at the comprehension, it seems to be easy, but it is not. It needs a lot of concentration. The aptitude and analytical questions, test the ability of your brain. The questions on math and science need a lot of thinking and knowledge. You must be knowing the fact that the Mathematical brain is considered to be the best one.

Stage-2.

If you get selected in the pre-exam. then you are supposed to apply for the 2nd stage, known to be the main exam. Here you are given the freedom to select two optional subjects and the third one is English. Everyone is supposed to qualify for the English paper. Here the pattern is different. The questions asked here are analytical. You are supposed to give descriptive answers. This exam. is not considered to be difficult because of its vast syllabus but the fact remains that the questions asked here are presented in a way such that the brain of the candidate can be tested.

Logical Answers Are Expected From The Candidates

The answers expected from you are logical ones. Here the answers expected need to be descriptive and to the point. Here your analytical test is taken. It needs an extraordinary brain to answer those analytical questions. One should tend to analyze the situations, that you may face in the future if selected. Here a test of your language is also taken. It is checked whether you can communicate and logically present your views or not.

Stage-3

A candidate being interviewed.

This is known as an interview. The selected candidate has to present himself/herself before the interviewers. Here face to face discussion is done and your presence of mind is judged. You are supposed to answer fluently and with confidence. Your body language, your sitting posture, and even your dressing sense are judged. Look they have tested your intelligence, knowledge, and brain in the previous two stages. You are there because you have cleared the first two stages. Now they want to judge your personality, which means that your inner screening is done.

Experienced Interviewers

The interviewers are so experienced that if you are pretending to behave in a way that you usually don’t, they will be able to extract your original nature even without giving a hint to you. You can’t escape from their eyes. Suppose one candidate who is being interviewed, is very intelligent but is very arrogant. Despite his/her all efforts, he/she will not be able to hide it. They judge your inner self by putting certain types of questions and the answers given by you are tested also. It means that all your virtues are tested here.

Some candidates try to cram the answers, but cramming alone is not going to help you. If you clear this stage also, now you are an administrative officer. It doesn’t mean that you directly will be given any responsibility. You then are sent to go through the foundation training and then special training. After that, you will be given any responsibility.

So the theme is that an administrative officer must have intelligence, cool and calm mind, logical thinking, and an analytical brain, which everybody doesn’t have.
